Sarahecmilla - Camille Bloch

‘Creator of Artefacts’

CV

Since a young age, I have been practicing the Arts of Drawing, Sculpting and Painting with my Dad in our Art Studio, but also while attending workshops with Christoff Debusschere and Ronan Olier.

Passionate about Nature, from studying it to representing it, i managed to combine the Sciences and the Arts during my 10 years studying abroad in England. Received in The University of The Arts London at The London College of Fashion, i studied a BA (Hons) Costume for Performance course enabling me to shape my eyes to Textures, Colours, Lights in addition to the Mise en Scene.

With my multi-artistic background, i came back to France after graduating in 2016 and since i have been devoting my life to what became my full time job, Artist. though something was missing in my creations.

The covid lockdowns allowed me to live another dream of mine, learning with my woodsmith dad the skills of cabinetmaking working with all kind of woods.

Finally I was able to fully create what i always dreamt of:

Cabinets of curiosities, entirely hand-made out of my paintings smoothed onto wood, cut and mounted in 3D forms to create volumes and light effects with an additional touch of fabrics to enrich textures.

They are filled with collectibles i created such as wooden sculptures of birds and of course my beloved dream come true hand-turned and hand-carved magic wands, but also treasures I collected from the outdoors or from antiquarians.

Thus, I became an Artist Maker of Magic Wands, Cabinets of Curiosities, Models and Puppets, which unconsciously joined my Love for Stop-Motion Animation.
